Measure once, made exact.

Made-to-measure starts with your numbers. A careful five minutes here saves a conversation later — and we confirm everything before the workshop.

Planters & raised beds
- Measure the space the planter sits in — width, depth and the height that looks right.
- For beds, mark the run and note slopes — we can stagger feet on uneven ground.
- Leave 20–30 mm clearance around pots and pipes behind the piece.
Trellises & screens
- Measure the wall or gap the screen covers — width and height in millimetres.
- Note what it fixes to: brick, fence posts or freestanding feet.
- Check for cables, taps and pipes in the fixing zone.
Table legs & bases
- Measure your top — we size the base roughly 150–250 mm in from each edge.
- Standard dining height is 720 mm to the underside of the top.
- Tell us the top material and thickness so we can add the right fixings.
Benches & shelving
- Measure the alcove or wall run the piece must fit — wall to wall.
- For benches, seat height is typically 430–460 mm.
- For shelving, note what it holds — books and files need deeper shelves.
Radiator covers
- Measure the radiator itself — width, height and depth off the wall.
- Add your clearance: we build covers 40–50 mm wider and taller than the radiator.
- Note skirting height and any pipes or valves that stick out.
Signs, hooks & small pieces
- For signs, measure the wall or post area — and how far it should read from.
- For hook rails, count the coats, keys or towels it needs to take.
- Note the fixing surface — brick, stud or tile changes the fixings we include.

The rules that matter

Always measure in millimetres — every dimension on the site is quoted in mm.
Measure twice, in two places; walls and floors are rarely perfectly square.
Send photos of the space with your request if anything looks unusual.
We verify every measurement with you before cutting begins — nothing is welded until it is confirmed.
